Top 10 at the Miss Universe 2001 pageant, from Nigeria Agbani Darego who's complete name is: Ibiagbanidokibubo Asenite Darego,n jumped to fame when she competed in the Miss World Pageant in Sun City South Africa, obtaining for the first time the crown for a black woman of Africa.

Thanks to her title the pageant Miss World is celebrated in Abuja the capital of Nigeria. But the predominately muslim population felt offended when their national newspaper published an article where Mahoma stated that he would be happy to have all of the contestants as wives. This caused great chaos and trajedy where 100 people where killed and 500 injured in addition, homes and churches where burnt causing the pageant to leave Abuja and be celebrated in London in just a week left to the final.

Agbani was the official image for L'Oreal in Europe during her reign.
