from Miss Universe 1978

Miss Universe 1978 commemorative coin and stamp celebrated in Acapulco, Mexico. Winning the title was the beautiful Margaret Gardiner from South Africa. This was the very first time Mexico hosted the pageant, which took place on July 24, 1978 in the Convention Center of Acapulco. That year Mexico was represented by the beautiful Alba Margarita Cervera Lavat from the state of Yucatan; she was a semifinalist.
