Ups, ¡this should not happen!
Fabulous pageants include fabulous features: tonned bodies, shining smiles, glamourous gowns, sexy swimsuits and finally, a gorgeus crown. This is how we know it. But what if something does not work out? What can happen backstage at the most prestigious pageants, or even more, right on the stage?
CLOTHES DISFUNCTION Pageant wardrobe is a very special one. Among its most important task is to ensure everything stays in the right place and not to move by walking or dancing on the stage. Unfortunately, exceptions happen. In 2004 Australia's Miss Universe, Jennifer Hawkins has a very embarrassing moment when her skirt fell off during the fashion show and revealed her thongs. Miss Universe 2006 Zuleyka Rivera of Puerto Rico fainted briefly after winning the crown because she was wearing a dress made entirely of metal chains and she had been standing under hot stage lights for some time in the stifling auditorium.

FALLS ON STAGE Fortunately it only happens from time to time. Some people believe that a fall or a stumble on the stage means “godd bye“ for a contestants but in fact the opposite proved to be truth. In 1999 Miriam Quiambao of The Philippines fell down during the live Miss Universe telecast during preliminar competition. Immediately she stood up and smiled. She captured the audience and finally she finished 1st runner-up. Rachel Smith of the USA tripped and fell during the evening gowns competition at the Miss Universe 2007 what actually fall ensured her „popularity“ at the funny videos portals. Smith quickly recovered and managed to be named the fourth runner-up in spite of the incident.

An outgoing queen is supposed to offcially crown her successor and right at that moment difficulties start: enormous size of the crown, hair messed up with the crown, problems with fixation...
