Belinda Green, Miss World 1972 (Australia)
1972 was the year for Australia. This year, Australia won the three prestigious beauty pageant titles; Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss Asia Pacific. Kerry Anne Wells won Miss Universe, Janet Coutts won Miss Asia Pacific and Miss World was won by Belinda Roma Green. Belinda Roma Green was the second women from her country to win Miss World, the first being Penelope Plummer, Miss World 1968. Belinda Green grew up in Sydney. On December 1, 1972, in London, England, she won the prestigious title of Miss World. Upon returning to Australia, Belinda embarked upon a career in media, marketing and public relations. Belinda has actively been involved in community work including outback car rally adventures with the "Desert Duel" which helps promote regional Australia and raise money for the Australian Paralympics. Belinda released a book, video and DVD called simply Relaxacise. The exercise has been designed create good posture, strength, tone and flexibility. As a horseracing enthusiast and race horse owner Belinda loves to co-ordinate "Fashions on the Field" for regional race meetings. Her involvement varies depending on the needs of the individual clubs. Other career highlights include presenting a wacky Fashion, Beauty and Health segment for Ray Martin on 'Midday Show', and being a colorful panelist on 'Beauty and the Beast'. She was a much loved personality on 'Good Morning Australia'. Green was married to advertising entrepreneur John Singleton for several years until 1987. They had two daughters. Now, Belinda is Australia's one of the most recognizable faces.

Belinda began her career in media, when she entered the modeling industry in 1972. After her victory over the coveted title of Miss World, she continued her modeling career in Europe and U.S.A.
